What is Tutors’ Recruitment Program (TRP)?
Tutors’ Recruitment Program (TRP) is a systematic human resource recruitment program under Vibrant-GOLD to identify, recruit, train and deploy qualified, competent & trained tutors for the academic needs of students and various courses/services to be offered through Vibrant-GOLD.
Efficient tutors recruitment, proper deployment, and utilization are necessary to ensure good professionalism. Clearly defined criteria and guidelines to identify, attract, train and retrain good tutors must be in place so as to facilitate the selection of trainable tutors capable of preparing students to successfully face the emerging local and global challenges.
Our tutors’recruitment program (TRP) is designed and customised to fit tutors’ professional goals and aspirations while allowing them the opportunity to explore the different cultures globally.
Why TRP?
What tutors do while tutoring will be one of the greatest aims of TRP.Where professional learning is by means of training is developed, Tutors’ knowledge base can be enhanced and there is a significant impact more generally on learning through tutoring:
- The primary objective of TRP is to build a human resource base of tutors who are capable of teaching the students at global level and who have the knowledge & understanding of international curriculum, can communicate effectively and are willing to work 24X7 according to learning needs of students across the world.
- It seems that in schools/institutes with a genuine sense of community for training, an increased sense of work efficacy leads to increased classroom motivation (in one on one teaching) and work satisfaction, with subsequent increases in collective responsibility for student learning.
- Professional learning through training appears to foster change in practice by creating an environment that supports innovation and experimentation, and this is what actually promotes tutors’ learning.
- Sustained, collaborative continuing professional development is highlighted as one mechanism for our training program.
- Studies on its effect on teaching and learning conclude that collaborative professional development opportunities frequently have a positive impact on: tutors’ confidence; their beliefs in their power to make a difference to students’ learning; enthusiasm for collaborative working, despite initial anxiety about opening up their practice to the potential scrutiny of others; and commitment to changing practice and willingness to try new things.
- Several features of collaborative professional development, working in combination, appear to be linked to these positive outcomes. These include: use of external expertise linked to school-based activity; observation; feedback, frequently based on observation; emphasis on peer support rather than leadership by supervisors; scope for tutors participants to identify their own learning focus; processes to encourage, extend, and structure professional dialog; and processes for sustaining professional learning over time to enable tutors to embed the practices in their own classroom settings.
Eligibility& Competency :
Tutors who are looking for a change of pace, and want to teach students overseas, wonder if they are qualified because they may never have worked, taught or even travelled abroad and concerns about language requirements consistently surface. To answer these questions and dispel any myths about what is required to teach abroad, here is a quick guide to what tutors will need to teach international students overseas:
1. Language Requirements :
The most important language requirement for teaching at an international level is that you speak fluent English. International schools/institutes all over the world consist of diverse, multicultural student bodies whose common denominator is that they are all English-speaking. This means that regardless of what subject or grade-level tutorsteaches, he/she will be teaching it in English
2. EducationRequirements :
Tutors should holdminimum Bachelor’s degree or higher in their subject area or in any stream but tutor should also be thorough in the knowledge of subject he/she will be teaching.
3. Teaching Experience :
Is overseas teaching experience required to get hired by an international organisation? No, one need not have taught overseas beforebut one do need have a basic knowledge of International Boards before he/ she apply toteach at an international level.
4. Communication :
As this course is mainly taught in English and contains a syllabus that is written and read in English medium, therefore, teacher’s English communication skills must be good.
5. Technology Skill :
Since online teaching is powered by the internet, tutors should have the zeal to deal with technologically driven tools as well. They need not be very tech-savvy while doing so, but yes, a basic understanding and management skills are required for sure. As it is said, practice makes a man perfect; there is no harm in trying to use the Ed-tech on a daily basis and slowly mastering how to use it. This is also important because at one point or the other, both students, as well as their parents, will look up to the teacher to teach them about certain tools used in an online classroom. Hence it is very crucial for anyone deciding to teach online to have good knowledge of the Learning Management System (LMS). To make things easier, one can use Google Classroom, Zoomor Impartus which are the best available apps for online classes. It makes things easier for tutors to handle by accessing a number of teaching tools.
6. Readiness to Teach 24X7 :
Since, Vibrant GOLD is an international project which will need tutors academic and co-academic inputs and co-ordination depending upon different/multiple time-zones of the world, so tutors will have to make their availability accordingly.

Tutors hold the responsibility for the development of course content. They must use a variety of techniques in innovative and creative ways based on students’ needs and understanding. They must build lessons that include case studies, stories, experiments and a variety of learning activities. Also, they must incorporate content that has more practical experiences for students. During content development, tutors must build content that has a global impact.Development of course content needs knowledge, skills, values and attitudes. Information for content development can be gathered from various sources like textbooks and other resources.
To develop content, effective strategies and methodology should be implemented.
8. Continuous Evaluation:
Tutor must have a thorough knowledge of the concept and objectives of continuous and comprehensive evaluation.
9. Academic Counselling :
Tutor monitor students’ development and according to their needs they give students necessary support such as helping them to understand themselves and their needs to solve their problems to make realistic decisions to improve their abilities and skills and to adjust themselves and their environment in a healthyway.Tutor should advise students on academic requirements, career resources, academic abilities and goal setting.
